Annerton continues to grow with new investment law partner

Frankfurt, 10 May 2021 – In July, the law firm Annerton, which specialises in regulatory law in the financial industry, is taking investment lawyer Anh-Vu Tran (36) on board as a partner at its Frankfurt office. The qualified lawyer and tax advisor focuses on providing comprehensive advice to capital management companies, asset managers and institutional investors, particularly on investments.

The focus of Annerton’s Frankfurt office is on providing ongoing advice to institutions and FinTechs on all regulatory issues, including investment regulatory law. Tran’s expertise in investment regulatory and investment tax law, particularly in the acquisition of domestic and foreign target investments as well as fund structuring, is a perfect fit for Annerton’s advisory practice, which already included investment law advice to capital management companies by Frankfurt partner Dr Anna Izzo-Wagner’s team. In addition, Tran will further expand the law firm’s tax practice together with Annerton partner Dr Steffen Rapp.

The new partner is familiar with both the advisor’s and client’s perspective. Previously, Tran was an in-house lawyer and tax advisor at Helaba Invest, where he reviewed and negotiated legal and tax aspects of target investments (in particular open-ended and closed-ended real estate, infrastructure and private equity target funds as well as real estate club deals) from the perspectives of the capital management company and investors, assisted in the structuring of domestic and foreign fund structures and advised on regulatory and tax issues relating to management companies. He began his career at PwC in tax law and banking supervisory law. He then worked for Berwin Leighton Paisner (now Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner) in structured finance and Simmons & Simmons in the investment funds practice, where he conducted the due diligence for target funds and the subsequent negotiations.

With the addition, the law firm continues its growth. Founded in early 2020 with offices in Berlin, Munich, and Luxembourg, Annerton opened its Frankfurt a. M. office in the same year. At the beginning of 2021, Nasim Jenkouk and Dr Florian Lörsch, two associates from the firm’s own ranks, joined the circle of partners. Finally, in March 2021, Dr Jörg Streißle, who had headed the legal department of Merck Finck, joined Annerton as Of Counsel, where he uses his proven in-house expertise to advise national and international banks and financial services providers on regulatory, civil and corporate law issues.
