Press Release
Randstad Group receives a payment services licence from BaFin
Frankfurt, Eschborn, July 4th, 2024 – Annerton has successfully assisted Randstad Financial Services GmbH in applying for a licence as a payment service provider from the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). With this licence, the subsidiary of Randstad Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG is now authorised to process payments for its customers. Randstad is one of the world’s leading personnel service providers.
A step towards expanding the service portfolio
With the BaFin authorisation, Randstad is expanding its portfolio of services. This offers particular advantages for large-scale projects in which Randstad works with several service providers. Involvement in payment transactions between payer and payee generally constitutes a payment service that requires authorisation as a payment institution.
Annerton partner Dr Anna Izzo-Wagner, LL.M. Eur., lawyer and partner at Annerton, and Till Otto, lawyer and senior associate at Annerton, assisted with the authorisation procedure at BaFin before the application for authorisation was submitted and throughout the entire procedure. Anna Izzo-Wagner: “By applying for a licence, Randstad is the first personnel service provider to take the step of applying for its own licence as a payment service provider. The BaFin authorisation for Randstad Financial Services GmbH represents an important milestone and significantly expands the portfolio. We arevery pleased for Randstad and thank them for the trust they have placed in us and the good cooperation.”
Advisors:
Dr Anna Izzo-Wagner, LL.M. (Eur); Sebastian Glaab; Till Christopher Otto; Jonas Burckgard (all Frankfurt); Dr Steffen Rapp (Munich); Josefine Spengler; Svetlana Ulrici (both Berlin)
